Meet your Chauffaur Guide on your arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport . You will be transfered to Negombo.
Negambo City.
Negombo has a small port, and its economy is mainly based on tourism and its centuries-old fishing industry. Negombo is a traditional fishing town in Sri Lanka, and no wonder the town is a gourmet food lover’s paradise with seafood available in plenty. Negombo also produces spices, ceramics and brassware. The town has a majority of Roman Catholics along with Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims while it has been given the name “Little Rome” due to the highly ornate Portuguese-era Roman Catholic churches found within the township. The town has several buildings that date back to the Dutch and Portuguese colonial era. Attractions in the city include the old Dutch fort gate built in 1672 now a part of the prison, the Dutch Canal which was then a supply route to the Dutch administration, old churches and fishing villages.The 100km long canal running through the town is still being used and is an attraction for those who want to see the country from a different perspective.

After breakfast your drive to the village of Anamaduwa. Here we are a part of the environment. The huts are made of mud and green roofs, the bathrooms are exterior, there is no electricity and no cars. We only move by bike. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included. You spend the whole day at Mud House and enjoy the activities on offer. You have the choice between kayaking, biking, walking, yoga or taking a traditional cooking class. You have lunch at the restaurant at the edge of the pond. You have the opportunity to visit the small Buddhist temple perched on a rock. After Breakfast you take the road to the Cultural Triangle. En route visiting the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its Buddhist caves perched on top of a hill. You will discover murals, statues of Buddha and dagobas, all scattered in 5 caves. From above you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the surroundings. You have the opportunity to take a walk to the market before continuing your way to Sigiriya. This is an opportunity to discover and taste unsung fruits and vegetables.

Early in the morning leave to visit the Sigiriya’ Rock Fortress, also known as the “Lion Rock”, whose massive rock overlooks the village with its 200 meters height. Your guide will make you discover the different parts of the site, the cave with the frescoes of Demoiselles, the gardens and ruins of Kasyapa Palace at the top. Upon completion you go to the small village of Hiriwaduna, for a ride in an oxcart and discover the Sri Lankan countryside and enjoy a delicious local lunch.
You then visit Polonnaruwa which we recommend you do by bike. This ancient city which extends over a dozen square kilometers was the royal capital of Sri Lanka during the eleventh and twelfth centuries. You visit the ruins of palaces, temples, but especially Kalu Gal Vihara, a set of 4 statues of Buddha carved in granite.

After breakfast Trek in the village with One of the trained Village Guides through quaint villages, show you the traditional village lifestyle and how they attend to their household chores. The walk also includes a look at the different vegetables, fruits and spices that are locally grown such as Cocoa, Pepper, Cloves, Nutmeg, Vanilla… and how jaggery (local sugar) is made from the flower of the Kithul tree. The village walks ends with a river swim where you can mingle with locals washing their clothes and dipping their heads in the water or choose to swim in what some may call your private natural swimming pool. A new addition is a newly found waterfall which includes a 1km walk through a jungle.

Visit the ancient village of Mediwake where you will be taken through terraced rice fields and be shown how rice is cultivated and harvested. For those who dare to get down in the mud, you can take charge of the water buffalo and experience traditional farming, hands-on. The best time to trek through the rice fields is between July-September and February-April when there is a wonderful tint of green all round. Rice is mostly planted in June/July & December/January and harvested in October and May where water buffaloes are still used, as done for centuries

After Breakfast leave to visit the inevitable Botanical garden of Peradeniya. Spread over 60 hectares on the banks of the Mahaweli River, this garden offers a beautiful walk of about two hours in the middle of royal palm trees, cannonballs, orchids and multicolored flower beds.
You then take the road to the mountainous agricultural region of central Sri Lanka. The road becomes more winding and climbs little by little to the ecological reserve of Maussawa. This place, with its bio diverse ecosystem, has been preserved in a remarkable way. You stay in an ecological cottage whose terrace dominates the entire valley. The products that will be served at dinner (included) are prepared from the organic vegetable gardens of the property or local small producers.

Nuwara Eliya, called Little England then, was also a hill country retreat where the British colonialists could immerse in their pastimes such as fox hunting.
Tea Factory Visit
Tea Factory to learn how tea is manufactured in Sri Lanka. You can observe the tea pickers, locally known as ‘tea pluckers’ as they move between the lush green rows along the mountains with their large baskets.Thereafter you will be given a guided tour explaining fermentation, rolling, drying, cutting, sieving and the grading of tea. Finish with a tea tasting process and learn of the history, and why Ceylon Tea is considered among the best in the world.

Ella is a small village in the highlands of Sri Lanka which is filled with tea estates, mountains, waterfalls and of course with some good air to breath.
Lots of people make Ella as one of their must visit destination just to witness the breathtaking views it creates. It is a dream place for many trekkers with some of the best hikes the Island provides. This hidden village got vastly popular among the tourists lately.
Views of mist and clouds covering the summits of the mountain range and the morning sun rise in Ella are spectacular scenes to witness and captured.
Full day at leisure or on your own taking local walks such as 9 Arch bridge, Little Adam’s peak walk,Visit Rawana Falls, or visiting Ella town to see markets and enjoy some great local food.

Today, take the road to the South, visit the Udawalawe National Park. Check in to the camp site, and enjoy the surrounding calm and the nature that borders your hut.
Later in the afternoon, a jeep awaits you for a safari in this high grass park created in 1972, which is worth the detour for its elephant population and abundance of birds. You can also see crocodiles, bears, sambars, monitor lizards, and even leopards.

Before leaving Udawalawe, you have the opportunity to visit the “Elephant transit home” where they take care of elephants before releasing them in the nature. You then take the road along the coast where you can see many hidden beauties such as the Dondra lighthouse, the beautiful bays of Mirissa and Weligama or stilt fishermen of Ahangama.
You stop at Galle to visit its fort, a real architectural gem with various colonial influences. Totally disconnected from the rest of the city, the fort, built in the 17th century by the Dutch, looks like a peaceful and welcoming village. You will appreciate the ramparts, but also the lighthouse, the churches as well as the numerous small shops.

As today is the last day of your wonderful tour, we leave to the Airport. According to your departure time, make a stop in the commercial capital of the island to carry out a city tour in a Tuk Tuk. Colombo is bubbling with activities. You have the opportunity to discover the city and its main attractions: the district of the fort, the district of Pettah, with its bazaar and its mosque, the district of City Hall with its colonial buildings and its Buddhist temple. You will be able to taste many specialties. It’s also an opportunity to stock up on souvenirs before heading to the airport.
